Happiness in a Lily

This was the study painting I did of my favorite flower before my big one last week. My husband schedules his scanning activities on Sunday evenings that’s why sharing this was delayed.

Paper: monologue sketch pad, A6;  Watercolors: w&n and holbein

This small painting encouraged me to have the confidence and the excitement to do a bigger version. How could I not feel so positive with this beauty? The joke was on me and I succumb to over confidence and the final painting, though it was beautiful and cherished, there were lessons to be learned and realizations taken by heart.  Thus, the story of my favorite flower can now begin with a humble heart. The next lily will be in a daler rowney aquafine 300gsm paper in A4 size (210 x 297mm). Wish me luck dear friends!
